Ohtani, who is 29 years old, had only said in public that his wife was “a normal Japanese woman.” Tanaka, who is now 27 years old, used to play competitive basketball for the Fujitsu Red Wave in the Women’s Japan Basketball League from 2019 to 2023.
ESPN says that the 5-foot-11 forward shot 47.7% from the field and 69.9% from the free throw line in 28 games during her last season. Also, in a Twitter post, Barstool Sports suggested that Shohei Ohtani’s wife could potentially start for the Wizards.
