Truman Capote was an American writer who also wrote screenplays and dramas. Truman Capote became recognized for writing “In Cold Blood” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” His second book, a true account of the murder of a family in Kansas, took six years to study and write.
Not only have many of Capote’s works been turned into movies and plays, but his life has also been turned into many movies and TV shows. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 30, 1924. After his parents Archulus and Lillie split up when he was two years old, he was raised in Monroeville, Alabama, by his mother’s family.

In addition to films and short stories, Capote wrote plays and books. “The Grass Harp,” his book, was turned into a Broadway play in 1952. The following year, Capote wrote lines for “Terminal Station” by Vittorio De Sica and helped write the script for “Beat the Devil” by John Huston.
The musical “House of Flowers,” which was based on his own short story of the same name, was written by him in 1954. Later, in 1960, Capote helped write the script for “The Innocents,” a psychological horror film based on Henry James’s short story “The Turn of the Screw.”

He also wrote the script for the TV movie “A Christmas Memory,” which was based on one of his short stories. In addition, Truman Capote has been the subject of several theatrical and film productions. Robert Morse played him in “Tru,” a one-man show on Broadway in 1990 that was based on Truman Capote’s writing.
Another one-man show about the author, “The Truman Capote Talk Show,” was started by Bob Kingdom in 1994. After that, in 2005, Bennett Miller directed the biopic “Capote,” which stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, who won an Oscar, as the author. The following year, Toby Jones played Truman Capote in the film “Infamous.”
