People in the NASCAR community are shocked by the death of famous driver Andrew Lorenz at the age of 44. Over the course of more than 15 years, Lorenz was involved with NASCAR both on and off the track. He has been interested in cars since he was young and finally tried NASCAR.
He wasn’t able to solidify his place as one of the greats of the Cup Series, but his skill was clear on the track. During his time at the Daytona International Speedway and the Talladega Superspeedway, he put on good shows, but not much is known about them. Let us talk about everything we know about what happened to Andrew Lorenz and how he died!!
What Happened To Andrew Lorenz?
The NASCAR expert fought a long fight with health problems and died on February 20 at 2:24 PM. Patricia Lorenz, his mother, says he was in the hospital for 10 days and cared for by Hospice for 12 days before he died.
Patrick wrote Andrew Lorenz a touching message on Facebook after he died. She wrote: “There are days and moments in our lives that change us forever. In NASCAR, the announcers told the crowd that Andrew Lorenz had died during lap 65 of the Ambetter Health 400 race. Fox Sports has taken over airing the Cup Series races and showed appreciation for Lorenz’s work in the fast-paced sport.
During the yellow flag moment, the announcer paid tribute to Lorenz and said on the FOX broadcast network, “Today Fox Sports and our entire industry mourn the loss of a friend and colleague, Andrew Lorenz, who passed away on Tuesday after a lengthy illness. An integral part of our team, Andrew worked at SMT, the company behind our driver graphic pointers.”
